Dirty Reds cap off sensational 2019 with presentation night

The Goulburn Rugby Club finished off season 2019 in style with a well-attended presentation night at the Goulburn Workers Club.

Players, past players and supporters joined together to celebrate a season in which three of the club’s four teams playing in ACT competitions were grand finalists.

President Peter Greaves thanked everyone for the impressive season that saw the club’s first ever women’s competition team go on to win their premiership, and also saw the club’s combined U13 team with Yass become the club’s first premiers in a junior ACT competition.

Greaves also congratulated the men’s teams, pointing out that first grade were only a converted try away from a premiership and congratulating second grade side for ushering in a wealth of new players, many of which were called up to the top grade at times.

Coaches Ben Pearson, Abram Kara, Rob Sheekey and Ash Mewburn each thanked their players, the committee and all of the support crew that contributed to one of the club’s most successful seasons in many years.

The Team of the Decade for the period 2010-1019 was also named on the night (listed here).

For the first season in the club’s 147 year history, there were joint male and female winners named in many of the Club Awards.
