Trinity teams to see out the season under Goulburn Rugby banner

Trinity Catholic College Rugby teams will play the remainder of the season under the banner of Goulburn Rugby following instructions this week that prevented the school from playing home and away football.

Following NSW Government regulations, Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn advised that Trinity could not play away games as these are regarded as school excursions and not allowed under current conditions.

Following conversations with ACTJRU, Catholic Education and Goulburn Rugby, Trinity teams will play out this season as Trinity Goulburn without breaching NSW Government public health orders.

Trinity Rugby teams will still play in their College rugby kit and will still be Trinity teams in every way that counts, but all players, coaching staff, friends and families are welcome to the club and can feel as much a part of the Dirty Red family as they wish to be.

As a matter of urgency, parents are required to login to their child’s Rugby Xplorer account and register their child with the Goulburn Junior Rugby Club. This must be completed today as Trinity Rugby and the ACTJRU, need to clear each application before tomorrow’s matches.

When registering, you will be asked why you want a clearance; please write “affiliating with Goulburn JRC”. There is no payment required. Players must be affiliated with Goulburn JRC before they run on the field tomorrow otherwise they will be in breach of NSW public health orders.

All coaches, managers and volunteers will also need to affiliate with Goulburn JRC through the Rugby Xplorer app.

Again, welcome aboard to all newcomers, even if only briefly. It’s great that this solution will allow the seasons to be completed for Trinity teams.
