Strong second half not enough for reserves

They had no luck in first grade, but It wasn’t all bad news for Wests who had a commanding 45-21 win against the Goulburn Dirty Twos.

Most of the damage was done in the first half with the Lions leading 35-0 at the break.

Halfway through the second half, Wests were up 45-0 but the Dirty Twos showed great tenacity to pile on three tries in the remaining 17 minutes.

Adam Lachlan crossed for two tries and Mik Webber for one, all converted for Webber, and while there’s no denying Wests dominance, Goulburn’s determination to not throw in the towel was a sign of good things to come.

Best and fairest points went to skipper Ben Todkill (3), Tangi Tangitaimati (2) and Chris Boardman (1) with George Boardman voted players player.
