Kiama sevens glory for Dirty Reds mens and womens teams

The Goulburn Dirty Reds men’s and women’s teams placed Goulburn Rugby’s stamp on the Seven circuit at Kiama on Saturday winning seven out of their eight matches.

The men’s team finished Country Cup Champions – undefeated from four games with a 17-12 win against the Bungendore Mudchooks. The women’s team also made the finals after three straight wins only to finish up runners up to Jindabyne.

The Country Cup dominating men’s team conceded just one try from their three round matches – beating Jindabyne Bushpigs by 38-0, Batemans Bay by 29-5 and Molong by 22-0 before the 17-12 final win over the Mudchooks. The women’s journey to the final also consisted of some powerful wins: 26-5 over Uni of Wollongong, 29-5 over Campbelltown and 15-10 over Gungahlin.

Goulburn Men’s player of the tournament was Hamish McCormack and for the women’s side was Jordan Brooker.
