COVID restrictions and procedures for Grand Final

COVID restrictions and procedures for Grand Final

A COVID Safe Plan has been submitted by the Goulburn Rugby Club to the Local Licensing Sergeant and has now been approved for this weekend’s Grand Finals.

In these difficult times, the Goulburn Rugby Club is aware that it is a privilege to host such an event. This approval has been granted under the expectation that the Goulburn Rugby Club, its players and supporters and all visiting clubs will respect and abide by these conditions and responsibilities.

To be clear… if you are not willing to comply with these guidelines, or if you are ill, do not attend the grand final.

Representatives of local Police and members of NSW Health will be at the game to check compliance against our COVID Safety Plan. Very large fines will apply to the club if we do not keep our end of the bargain and for both health and financial reasons, we make no apologies for enforcing the following steps.

  1. All patrons are asked to watch the game from the safety of their car where possible.
  2. Patrons are asked to bring their own chairs to the grounds.
  3. GRUFC encourage all attendees to use private transport to travel to the grounds.
  4. All alcohol purchased at the grounds must be consumed whilst seated.
  5. Card facilities will be available and are the preferred option for payment on the day.
  6. Attendance sheets will be available throughout the ground and all patrons are requested to sign them on entry.
  7. Sanitising stations will be available at multiple locations and in the bathrooms and patrons are asked to sanitise their hands regularly throughout the day.
  8. All patrons are asked to comply with the 1.5m social distancing rule and not to be seated or standing in groups of 10 or more people.
  9. Everyone attending the grounds on Saturday is urged to download the National COVID Safe app prior to attending.
  10. There is a NSW limit of 500 people to the rugby ground at any one time, the club asks that if you are playing or supporting a team could you please leave the ground as soon as possible after the conclusion of the match.
  11. COVID Marshalls will be in attendance throughout the day to ensure all COVID regulations are adhered to by all patrons.
  12. Local Police will be in attendance to monitor crowd numbers and crowd behaviour.

It is a great accomplishment to have both senior men’s teams into the Grand Final, and to be hosting the Women’s 10s Grand Final. Let’s ensure that we follow these procedures so that all we will be talking about is the rugby.
